What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Maintenance Specialist who will assist in the upkeep and building repairs of the new hotel. This position requires journeyman level experience that will help maintain and develop the operations of the Engineering Department.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and appearance of the buildings and grounds
- Visually inspects buildings, exterior grounds, daily and reports anything in need of repair or replacement as well as unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the guest experience
- Ensures the appearance of the building and surrounding areas are kept at the high standard that management and guests expect.
- Ability to troubleshoot common plumbing, electrical, and door hardware repairs
- Ability to perform precision painting of interior and exterior area
- Capacity to work with companies’ numerous software and basic troubleshooting
- Responds to guest and department requests in a courteous and timely manner
- Assist with inventory control of supplies and equipment owned by the property
- Will keep engineering shop area clean, organized, and equipment in good working condition
- Obtains thorough knowledge of management company policies
- Always performs duties according to Occupations Safety & the Health Act (OSHA) standards and company PPE safety policies
- Seeks opportunities to increase skills and expand the knowledge base.
- Wears the required uniform and always maintains a professional appearance
- Must be available to work on an on-call basis.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.
- Write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Speak with poise, voice control, and confidence, using correct grammar and well-modulated voice.
- Ability to understand the technologies required in the work you are directing.
- Vocational Institution Certificate and completion of apprenticeship in plumbing/electrical repair.
- 3 years’ experience in the maintenance field
- 3 years’ experience in the plumbing, electrical, and painting trades; OR, an equivalent combination of education & experience.
